Quantity Surveyor

Contract QS/ SQS Civil/ Mech - Up to £500 per day.

Green Recruitment Solutions are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading EPC Main Contractor that specialises in large scale and high tech projects. You will be responsible for the overall day to day management of the commercial and surveying aspects of high tech and major complex design and build, refurb and new build projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Register and acknowledge the recipients of all project enquiries
  • Manage as well as monitor all the commercial aspects of the projects 
  • Identify the areas of risk and scope and develop with the project team
  • Produce control document when the project is secured
  • Review proposals with Designers and select and agree the subcontractor enquiry list
  • Lead procurement of subcontract works packages
  • Organise and chair subcontract settlements
  • Provide support in respect to legal/contract issues associated with the project
  • Input to the supply chain/preferred suppliers for constructional elements in conjunction with project teams for subcontractors/suppliers
  • Develop and maintain accurate cost reporting /monitoring/forecasting as well as producing monthly status reports including items listed above.

Essential Requirements:
  • Mechanical Qualification
  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or construction related subject
  • Post qualification construction experience with a main contractor
  • Strong track record on commercial build projects
  • Experience of package negotiation
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and logical skills
  • Able to work accurately with figures
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willing to travel
  • IChemE contracts knowledge (Contractor side)
  • Claims and variations experience essential
Desirable Requirements:
  • Chartered Membership of RICS or CIOB
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint
